Golfing

The Emerald Isle, a golfing treasure chest containing some of the finest gems in the world, has risen to prominence in resent years as a favoured golf destination. In fact, the golf choices on this Island rival any country in the world.

Many of our golf courses organise open competitions which allows members of other clubs to compete with local members. The open competition provides great value for money and typically reduced green fee's are availible, plus the incentive of playing for prizes.

Here are but a few of the fantastic golf courses in Co. Laois:

the_heath_golf_club.jpgThe Heath Golf Club Portaloise
The course is laid out on open heathland, incorporating three natural lakes and was the first Laois Club to extend to 18 holes over thirty years ago. Furze features prominently on many holes and the course is a plaze of yellow from early Spring onwards. Facilities available include a 10-bay driving range, lake-side putting green and two practice areas as well as a magnificent clubhouse opened 10 years ago.
